Event Description
Food has always been a powerful way to connect generations, share stories, and preserve cultural heritage. Flavor of Legacy brings seniors and youth together in an interactive culinary experience that celebrates Black history, strengthens intergenerational bonds, and fosters community healing through storytelling and tradition.
Objective
This workshop honors Black heritage by creating a shared space for learning, cooking, and cultural exchange. Through collaborative cooking and discussions, participants will explore the rich legacy of Afro-Caribbean cuisine and its role in shaping identity and community.
What to Expect
🔹 Seniors Cooking with Youth: Hands-on cooking sessions where elders share traditional recipes, techniques, and cultural significance.
🔹 Building Friendships: Strengthening connections between generations through shared experiences and storytelling.
🔹 Team Collaboration: Encouraging teamwork and mentorship between seniors and youth.
🔹 Legacy & Future Discussions: Conversations on cultural heritage, family traditions, and the evolution of Black identity.
🔹 Interactive Exhibits & Networking: Engaging cultural showcases, discussions, and networking opportunities to foster a sense of community.
