Empowering Newcomers at Chezliving: Financial Literacy and Parenting Workshops
At Chezliving, our Settlement Counselors offer tailored workshops to help African and Afro-Caribbean immigrants navigate life in Canada. These sessions focus on key areas like financial literacy and parenting, equipping newcomers with the tools they need for success.
Financial Literacy Program:
Our workshops introduce the Canadian financial system, covering budgeting, saving, credit, debt management, and more. Participants learn essential skills such as opening bank accounts, understanding loans, and navigating taxes, empowering them to achieve financial independence.
Parenting Classes:
Designed to respect cultural values while adapting to Canadian norms, our parenting workshops cover positive techniques, child development, the education system, and accessing community resources. These classes foster a supportive space for parents to share experiences and build connections.
Personalized Support:
In addition to group sessions, our Settlement Counselors provide one-on-one follow-ups to address individual concerns, ensuring personalized guidance for each family.
Building Community:
Our workshops not only impart knowledge but also strengthen community bonds among newcomers. Through shared learning and feedback, we continually refine our programs to better serve the needs of our participants.
